New LED lights require little power and generate less heat
June 2006 – Working in partnership with LED Specialists, a US based LED design house, CML Innovative Technologies has developed a new range of LED lights for up-market marine interiors. The “Compact” model is a LED reading light while the “Spot” spot light is designed for general overhead lighting. The low voltage capabilities of these latest LED lights mean they use very little power, minimizing generator running time and increasing battery life when a yacht is stationary.
Emitting much less heat than conventional lighting solutions, Compact and Spot LED lights are ideal solutions for designing into expensive wood panels or when the devices are in close proximity to other materials on board up-market yachts which could be damaged by the high operating temperatures of conventional lighting.
Compact and Spot LED lights feature integrated ‘light engines’ and are available in low voltage and line voltage versions. Offering a light output of 80 up to 500 lumens, both models are available in a range of colours and with a range of light patterns. The devices are designed for an operating temperature range of -40 up to +40 degrees Celsius.
