MK20/1 Reed Sensor Measure Wind Speed in Weather Stations
MK20/1 proximity sensors are magnetically operated Reed Switches in a cylindrical packaged, fitted with interconnect cable. The sensor should be mounted on a fixed surface with the actuating magnet on the moving surface. Introduction or removal of the magnetic field determines the closing and opening of the Reed Switch.
One of a wide range of applications for this sensor is in measuring wind speeds in weather stations. A Reed Sensor in combination with a magnet on a rotating platform is moved by the wind activity - with defined parameters we can exactly identify the wind speed.
MEDER also manufactures the world's smallest Reed Switch KSK-1A04 for the smallest MK20 series model MK20/2 measuring only 7.5 mm in length and 2.7 mm. in diameter.
