Green Projects at MEDER electronic - Reducing Energy Consumption
In an effort to launch our "Switch Green" campaign, MEDER electronic executives first began by making an active commitment to switch to more energy efficient technologies within its global facilities. At our headquarters in Singen, Germany we began our reduction in energy consumption with the installation of ambient light sensors throughout the building. These ambient light sensors detect various sources of light including natural sunlight, incandescent and fluorescent and automatically adjust the lighting to virtually match the requirements of the human eye, while reducing power consumption. Furthermore, an override prevents lights from being turned on when there is sufficient daylight, for additional energy savings.
In addition to ambient light sensors, MEDER electronic has also implemented the use of battery powered motorized window shades to further our energy savings. Electric window shades are equipped with sun sensing technology which are programmed to automatically adjust to help manage heat gain in the summer months and heat loss during the winter. Along with energy savings, these motorized shades also work hand in hand with the ambient light sensors to provide the ideal workplace light setting.
