G6D Relays Discontinued March 30, 2005; Replaced by RoHS-Compliant G6D-ASI Models
Effective immediately, Omron has discontinued production of all previous versions of the G6D relay that utilized Silver Cadmium Oxide (AgCdO2) as the contact material. The discontinuation of the G6D is part of Omron's continuing efforts to comply with the EU's directive regarding the Removal of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). That directive includes the elimination of Lead, Cadmium and Cr6 from all piece parts used in the construction of our products.
Suggested Replacement Parts
As a replacement to the previous versions of the G6D, Omron has introduced the G6D-ASI, which utilizes Silver Tin Indium (AgSnIn) as the contact material. While this change allows Omron to maintain the standard 2 Amp ratings, the number of operations for the product's 5 Amp ratings will be slightly reduced, as shown in the following chart.
