IDEC announces the release of the new Modbus converter for use with the MicroSmart series or Open Net Controller series of PLCs.

This protocol converter provides an interface from Modbus slave devices to IDEC PLCs. The converter has two built-in ports. Com 1 is an RS232C port for PLC configuration; Com 2 is an RS 485 port for the Modbus slave device. The converter will draw power from the PLC port so no external power supply is needed. To configure the converter, use the Windows-based programming software and cable (which are sold separately or available in a package).
