Assemtech has expanded its successful range of plastic and metal cased Hall Effect Sensors with a rectangular case version. These electronic proximity switches operate when the magnet is positioned 8mm approx. to the sensor face enabling a bounce free long life operation.
The PSSM has a strong rectangular shape, machined aluminium housing with fully encapsulated electronics giving maximum protection, preventing the ingress of dust and moisture. The product is expected to meet the requirements of IP65.
The sensor and magnet are identical in size and construction with slotted fixing points on the magnet for precise setting. To improve setting up, the sensor also has a red LED, which lights to indicate when power is at the device and the magnet is positioned correctly.
Three variations of the PSSM sensor are available. The PSSM 25S/30 offers PNP plus NPN output while the PSSM 12S/30 offers higher switching up to 0.5 Amps and is ideal for incandescent lamps and similar loads. The PSSM 25D/30 provides protected digital output with reverse polarity. Operating temperatures for continuous use -20°C +85°C with intermittent use at -20°C +105°C.
