Carling Technologies' new sealed-mount A and C-Series circuit breakers are designed for use in rugged environments where dust, water spray and splash may be present. The design features a steel bat style actuator/bushing which is mechanically fastened to a steel plate. This actuator/mounting bracket assembly is riveted to the front of the breaker providing a solid and operational interface for the end user.

In addition to the robust construction of the actuator, a silicon rubber seal surrounds the actuator effectively preventing water and dust ingress. When mounted to a panel, the breaker is sealed by a captive O-ring located at the base of the bushing. The breaker features a vented case for arc egress, so is not designed for use where a totally sealed breaker is required, but it is effective as a sealed breaker in a panel.
