To help conserve valuable panel space, Carling Technologies introduces a new one rack unit (1RU) DC Power Distribution Center (PDC) for the telecom industry. These new custom panels can be designed in both the 19" and 23" mounting configurations, to fit industry standard rack systems. The 1RU is designed to UL1801 and international standards.
The Carling circuit breakers installed in the 1RU are plug in style to allow for hot swapability and front access, and are rated to 100 amps per pole with a standard 10,000 amp interrupting capacity rating and a special 50,000 amp interrupting capacity on request.
Even as a "condensed" panel, this new 1RU exceeds the tough demands of today's applications. while still offering safety, reliability and performance.
A Power Distribution Center (PDC) is a custom designed power distribution panel or enclosure that's factory wired and contains overcurrent and short-circuit circuit protection devices. A PDC is usually supplied by a main feeder and then divides the power into smaller branch circuits. The PDC provides the required circuit control and overcurrent protection needed for all the circuits and loads connected to it.
Utilizing our comprehensive range of quality circuit protection and control products, and working closely with a company's product development team, Carling designs and builds custom Power Distribution Centers (PDCs) to meet a customer's specific requirements. From initial design to full scale manufacturing, Carling has a dedicated commitment to manufacturing exactly the product that meets a customer's power distribution requirements.
As a custom designed product, customer's may specify the physical size of the enclosure. Additional components, including temperature stable Carling hydraulic/magnetic circuit breakers, ground fault circuit protectors, transient voltage surge suppressors, meters, power receptacles, relays, busbars, hole plugs and LEDs, are added to complete the PDC.
Power Distribution Centers can be designed to meet most agency approvals and safety standards including CSA, UL, IEC, NEMA, NEC and TUV. More specifically, this also includes UL67 - "Panelboards"; UL1950, IEC 950, EN60950 - "Safety of Information Technology Equipment including Electrical Business Equipment"; and UL508 - "Industrial Control Equipment".
With four ISO certified manufacturing locations and technical sales offices worldwide, Carling ranks among the worlds largest, privately owned manufacturers of power distribution, circuit protection and control products.
"Quality By Design" is more than just the Carling corporate mission; it's the basis for all facets of the Carling organization. Since its founding in 1920, the key advantages that Carling has always offered are expertise in engineering, tooling, and manufacturing.
Using industry leading integrated CAD/CAM software and 3-D technology, Carling's highly skilled product development teams design and deliver functionally superior, aesthetically appealing products in a most cost effective manner. Although many manufacturers out-source many tooling and manufacturing functions, Carling maintains their own in-house tooling and manufacturing facility - one of the most extensive of its kind. State of the art molding, metal processing and tool fabrication resources, complete our total manufacturing process, with unsurpassed quality and efficiency. Our ability to readily customize products, with in-house molding, stamping, forming and welding, allows Carling Technologies to ensure quality throughout the manufacturing process.
To discuss any new power distribution requirements or for "value engineering" of a present system, consult with Carling's technical staff. With our extensive test, research and development capabilities, Carling has assisted many customers in solving unique design and application problems with cost effective, standard, modified or customized solutions. This new 1RU is an example of our commitment to designing quality solutions for our customers.
