Maple Grove, Minnesota – CIT RELAY & SWITCH introduces the A5 Series 40 AMP relay. This small size, light-weight relay is offered with SPST N.O., SPST N.C. or SPDT contact arrangement. The SPST N.O. arrangements offers contact ratings of 40A@14VDC, 20A@120VAC and 15A@28VDC. Both the SPST N.C. and the SPDT arrangements offer 30A@14VDC, 20A@12VAC and 15A@28VDC. The A5 offers maximum switching power of 360W; maximum switching voltage of 750vdc, 380VAC; and maximum switching current of 40A.

The 5A Series relay is designed for high in-rush applications. Offering excellent vibration and shock resistance, this addition to the CIT relay family features a high heat resistant design for use in high ambient temperature, such as engine compartments and is able to carry continuous current of 20 amps in + 125°C. The specially formed contacts in the A5 Series relays are weld resistant as well.

Designed for compact mounting density the A5 offers numerous choices in coil voltage from 6VDC to 24VDC. Available with both sealed American and sealed European PC layout styles, the A5 also offers an open frame. The European style is CE certified. Electrical life at the rated load is typically 100k cycles and mechanical life is 10M cycles. With insulation resistance of 100MW minimum at 500VDC, the A5 offers coil-to-contact dielectric strength of 750V rms minimum at sea level and contact-to-contact dielectric strength of 500V rms minimum at sea level. Shock resistance is 200m/s2 for 11 minutes and vibration resistance is 1.27mm double amplitude 10~40Hz. The A5 is compact in size, measuring 25.8mm x 20.5mm x 20.8mm and is RoHS Compliant.
