Panasonic, a worldwide leader in Relay Products, is pleased to announce the expansion of the AEP Series Compact Power Relays. The line has been expanded to include the NEW 200A type for usage in solar applications. The AEP Series features up to 400VDC high-voltage switching and a 1,000VDC cut-off voltage thanks to a sealed construction containing mixed hydrogen gas and magnetic arc motion, which is acheived through use of a permanent magnet. By using a capsule contact mechanism that is surrounded by hydrogen gas, high capacity cut-off requirements can be met even with a small contact gap. The relay enclosure features a small size thanks to an arc-space-free construction from which the arc can not escape, ensuring safe operation. Hermetically sealed contacts provide a stable contact resistance regardless of the ambient conditions. Relay operation is relatively unaffected by gravity due to the usage of a lightweight internal mechanism, coupled with a large restoring force. Lastly, there is little operating sound even in high current applications.
