High Frequency Relay with Low Insertion Loss Characteristics
Panasonic Electric Works (formerly Aromat) offers the compact ARJ relay with excellent high frequency characteristics tested up to 8GHz. A low insertion loss value of 0.25dB typical at 5GHz minimizes signal loss that is critical at higher frequencies. Low crosstalk is achieved with a typical isolation of 42dB and signal reflection is kept to a minimum with a VSWR of 1.15 typical at 5GHz. The ARJ is ideal for the demanding requirements of test equipment and mobile communication markets. Surface mount and through-hole terminals are available in a compact package of 14mm (L) x 9mm (W) x 8.2mm (H).
A typical application for the Panasonic brand ARJ relay is in a step attenuator circuit of portable spectrum analyzers. The ARJ is applied in a circuit that prevents mixer distortion, critical for both transmitter and receiver in communications. Superior characteristics for insertion loss are a central performance feature to the product design. Additional advantages include high reliability and latching option.
