Minneapolis, Minnesota – CIT RELAY & SWITCH announces immediate availability of its upgraded automotive A5 Series relays. With switching capacity to 40A, these automotive relays offer contact arrangement options of SPST N.O., SPST N.C. and SPDT. The A5 Series coil voltage options are 6VDC, 9VDC, 12VDC, 18VDC and 24VDC with coil power choices of 1.6W and 1.9W. This small size relay is light weight and offers two footprint styles – both American and European PC layout. This relay is sealed, immersion cleanable. The A5 Relay is also available open frame. Offering contact resistance of <50 milliohms initially, the maximum switching power is 360 watt with max switching voltage of 75VDC, 380VAC. CIT QS9000 and ISO9002 certified manufacturing insures quality and continuous reliability. Standard, RoHS lead free, environmentally friendly (no cadmium) contacts are AgSnO2.
Tested electrical life of the A5 Series is 100K cycles with mechanical life of 10M cycles. Insulation resistance is 100M at 500VDC. The dielectric strength of the A5 Series coil to contact is 750Vrms minimum at sea level and contact to contact is 500Vrms. Shock resistance is 200m/s2 for 11 minutes with vibration resistance of 1.27mm double amplitude 10~40Hz. Copper alloy terminal strength is 10N. Operating temperature of -40C to 85C and storage temperature of -40C to 155C. Solderability is 260°C for 5 seconds. The A5 Series measures in at 25.8mm x 20.5mm x 20.8mm and weigh 19g open and 21g covered.
The A5 Series relay applications include automotive and lamp accessories such as lighting control, defrost, flasher & turn signals, power door locks, sunroof, window control, power, steering, blower control and power lift gate along with numerous others.
